OBITUARIES Joseph Miller, 59, building engineer Joseph Miller was project engineer for the Metropolitan campus of Cuyahoga Community College and for Police Headquarters in the Justice Center. He was a project engineer for the Turner Construction Co. from the mid-1950s until he retired about two years ago. Mr. Miller, 59, of the Shaker Square area, died Friday at St.

Luke's Hospital. He became ill with cancer last fall. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of St. Paul Episcopal Church, 2747 Fairmount Cleveland Heights.

He and his wife, Mary, an occupational therapist for Cuyahoga County Hospitals, moved here from St. Louis in 1967. Four years later, his work took them to Louisville, but they returned in 1972. Mr. Miller was born in Meredith, and received a civil engineering degree from Manbattan College in New York.

He was in the Army Corps of Engineers in World War II and later re-enlisted when engineers were needed to do mapping in the Philippines. His wife survives. DEATHS ELSEWHERE FROM WIRE REPORTS NEW YORK John J. Meehan, 70, a New York lawyer, died after being injured in a fall at his home in Plandome, N.Y. He worked for 26 years as assistant to J.

Peter Grace, chairman and chief executive of W.R. Grace Co. He joined the company in 1960 and was vice president, secretary and a trustee of the Grace Institute and the Grace Foundation.
