MOSLEY PLAIN DEALER REPORTER WESTLAKE James Lloyd Brown was a widely known clinical and forensic psychologist. He was associate director of the Cuyahoga County Court Psychiatric Clinic since 1988. He ran the court-based psychiatric assessment clinic.

Mr. Brown, 39, also had a private practice in Westlake. He died Friday of cardiac arrythmia while exercising at the U.S. Total 'Fitness Center in Cleveland. He was born in Cleveland and graduated from Bay High School.

He received a bachelor's degree in 1977 from Case Western Reserve University where he graduated with high honors. Two years later, he earned a master's degree. He earned a doctorate in clinical psychology from Florida State University and served his clinical? internship at Tufts University'? Medical School and Boston Veter4 ans Administration Medical Cen ter. 1430.2 19.090 He was a senior clinical structor at the Department' of Case Western 11A0 Psychiatry at serve University Medical and he was on the hospital staff St. Vincent Charity Hospital St.

Gliha was the city of Cleveland's only bridge inspector. He had worked for the city since 1974 and was senior assistant engineer of the Bridges and Docks Department. For the last three years he was acting superintendent of the department. Mr. Gliha, 68, died at his West Side home Saturday.

He had a long history of heart trouble, undergoing a bypass surgery in 1985 and struggling with congestive heart failure for three years. He died just two days after the funeral of his older brother Jerry. He enjoyed his home and especially his flower garden. Karpi, 79 priest for over 50 years RICHFIELD The Rev. Francis A. Karpi was pastor of St. Emeric Catholic Church on Cleveland's near West Side for 28 years. The Cleveland native was pastor of the church near the West Side Market from 1965 to 1983 when a heart condition forced him to retire.

Previously, he had been an assistant at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Cleveland from 1949 to 1965. Father Karpi Karpi would have turned 80 this week. He died Monday at the Regina Health Center in Richfield. He was born in Cleveland in 1915, the son of the late John and Susanna Karpi.

He attended the? Harvey Rice school, Audubon' Junior High School and Cather dral Latin School. He studied atv John Carroll University entering St. Mary Seminary. CO TAN He was ordained in 1941. 434 A He was an assistant at St.

today at St. Emeric Church, 1890 -W: 22nd St. a Gordon P. Randolph, 78, was salesman in Cleveland: AVON LAKE Gordon P. Randolph was a retired office supply salesman who volunteered his time in retirement to help elderly people sort out their medical bills.

He retired in 1977 after 39 years as a salesman for Cleveland Office Supply but according to longtime friend Edward Webber was soon asked to do volunteer work through the former Tri County Office on Aging. Eventually he ended up spending every weekday helping residents fill out insurance and Medicare paperwork at Beach Park Apartments. "He was a very busy man and he saved a lot of people a lot of money," Webber said. "He just liked the people there." Mr. Randolph, 78, died of cer Friday at his home.

He was born in Cleveland, but lived in Avon Lake for many. years. He was a member of both. St. Joseph Catholic Church and" the Irish Heritage Club in Avon: Lake.

Burkart was a 50-year resident of Avon who was active in St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was a member of the church's Altar and Rosary Society and Mission Circle. She loved making crafts and traveling. Mrs.

Burkart, 80, died Saturday at her son's home in Lorain. She worked during World War II at General Electric Nela Park plant. Her husband, Joseph is deceased. She is survived by a son, William A. of Lorain; daughter, Coletta A.

Arthur C. Kline, 77, was a supervisor at Fasson PERRY Arthur C. Kline was DEATHS ELSEWHERE a production and control supervisor for the Fasson division of Avery-Dennison, working for the company from 1957 to 1980. Mr. Kline, 77, died Saturday at the Heartland of Mentor nursing home.

He was born in Sebring, in Mahoning County, and came to Lake County as a child. He graduated from Harvey High School in Painesville and served three years as a combat engineer in the Army during World War II. He was a member of St. Cyprian Catholic Church in Perry and Elks Lodge 549 in Painesville. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; son, Dr.

Jon A. of North Perry; three sisters; and four grandchildren. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow at St. Cyprian Church, 4223 Middle Ridge Perry.

Arrangements are being handled by the Spear-Mulqueeny funeral home, Robert O. Waite, was manager for Ford HURON Robert O. Waite was a former plant superintendent at the Ford Motor Co. truck plant in Avon Lake. He retired in 1978 after 30 years of service.

He had also been assistant plant manager of the Oakville Ford Plant in Mr. Waite, 74, of Huron, died Saturday in Dover, Ohio, on his way to visit his daughter in North Carolina. He was born in Buffalo, and had lived in West Valley N.Y., Point Credit, Ontario, Vermilion and Huron. He was a lieutenant in" the United States Navy during World War II, when he was an engineering officer. He was a member of the American Legion and Elks in New York, the I.A.B.

Club of Sandusky, and a sustaining member of the Republican National Committee. He enjoyed woodworking, makring furniture, hunting, fishing and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Dolores; a daughter, Dr. Kathleen Waite; and a son, Patrick, both of Durham, N.C. Services will be at 10 a.m.

Kerner Christopher Keene, 48, general director of NYC Opera FROM WIRE REPORTS 14. Francisco Opera in 1966 and of rence Mali, an award-winning NEW YORK Christopher Keene, 48, general director of the New York City Opera since 1989, died yesterday of AIDS complications. Keene disclosed in August that he had been HIV-positive for a decade or more. Keene, a champion of contemporary operas, conducted "Mathis der Maler" for opening night at the New York City Opera just a month ago. He made his New York City Opera conducting debut in 1970 and conducted more than 300 performances of 50-plus operas.

Keene was music director of the organization from 1982 to 1986 and succeeded Beverly Sills as general director in 1989. He conducted, staged and produced his first operas while a student at the University of California, Berkeley, then became assistant conductor of the San worked for the city of Solon for 27 years, mostly as an engineering inspector. F. He graduated from Maple Heights High School in 1950 and had lived in Solon since 1965. Mr.

Kerner, 62, died Saturday at his home. He had cancer. An obituary for Pamela Lee Howard yesterday should have indicated her mother, Charlotte Durant, was from Cleveland. Rocker, a world champion tabletennis player and retired high school teacher, died Thursday of heart failure while jogging. He was 75. Rocker won his first national title in the over-40 category, and went on to capture titles in his 50s and 60s. In 1992, he and a partner won the world doubles championship in Dublin, Ireland, for men over 70.

Max Falk, 91, headed N.Y. Times advertising NEW YORK Max Falk, a former chief advertising executive of the New York Times, died Friday at 91. While Falk was the senior advertising executive, with the title of advertising director, advertising revenues of the Times grew to a record $175 million in 1972 from $129 million in 1966. Jane Lawrence Mali, 58, wrote children's books NORFOLK, Conn. Jane Law- thor of children's books, died Oct. 2 of cancer. She was 58. Mali co-authored eight books in the late 1970s and 1980s with Alison Cragin Herzig.

"Oh, Boy! Babies!" was published by Little Brown in 1980. The book of photographs depicting a baby-care class at a boy's school in New York won the American Book Award for children's hardcover non-fiction in 1981. At the Collegiate School in New York in the 1970s, Mali pioneered scholarships for nursery school children and child-care classes for boys.
