I wanna start off by saying I am really not wanting to trigger anything for any mamas; if you’re still working through your mmc, please stop here.
For those who have processed and are okay to talk about it, I have a few questions if that’s okay.
The anxiety I have is starting to make me lose sleep. This is baby #2 for me, 3rd pregnancy and the 1st was a miscarriage at 9weeks, so it’s always lingered in my mind. But I’ve not been able to shake it the last 2 days ish.
I’ve been moving into a new house over the weekend, and fetal movement has not been the same. I know it’s not consistent at this point (22w today) but there are patterns or usually certain things that almost guarantee some movement. A popsicle, sitting crisscrossed, etc. Sometimes I can even poke her and she’ll poke back.
But lately, nothing. Maybe some very dull, slosh or roll like feeling on my bikini line. But not kicks.
I know if you’re that worried just go get checked, but I’m really trying to reason through it- with my first I went to the ER so many times for it to be just fine, and I’ve already been once with #2 at about 16 weeks. NIPT is all low risk, anatomy scan was flawless. So I’m just trying to wait out the anxiety until a kick comes or some obvious movement.
So I guess my questions would be, how did you know it was different ‘no fetal movement’ than just the anxiety inducing quietness?
Did you have other symptoms? At what point did you say, ‘okay I need to go get looked at’?
And how do you cope with the anxiety in pregnancies after a loss this far?
Sorry this was so long, but I appreciate the insight you mamas give.

First of all, I’m so sorry for your previous loss. I also had an MMC at 9 weeks (found out at the 12 week scan) and I have been so nervous this pregnancy, especially when I don’t feel my girl moving.
I normally start with calming myself down by recognizing that I won’t/don’t feel her as much when I’m busy. If you’ve been busy moving I’d imagine your mind has been elsewhere and not focusing on feeling movement. Maybe your little one was active during those times, and more relaxed or sleeping when you did finally have time to focus on feeling movement?
At this point of I was busy most of the day with something, and didn’t feel her at bedtime I’d wait until the next morning to call after I have breakfast because she’s usually active around that time. That’s just me personally though. I’ve also gone twice for ultrasounds early on because I was so scared due to my previous mmc.
As far as calming the anxiety I just keep reminding myself that the likelihood of loss goes down significantly in trimester 2. I’m also a firm believer that my baby’s health (and mine) are in God’s hands so praying and faith help me a lot this time around.
I’m so sorry, the anxiety is so real. I hope you’re able to get some movement and peace of mind soon.

I am a FTM but I constantly worry still… I have been using my heartbeat Doppler since 10 weeks when I first found baby. It’s the best anxiety reliever!! You shouldn’t have a problem finding baby past 14 weeks unless they really hide.
I hadn’t felt baby all day and used it and found baby right away! Phew.

@Meganann121,
I agree with the Doppler! My first pregnancy was a MMC. I’m 23 weeks and everything is great, but I still worry constantly! Even though I can feel her move, I still use the Doppler daily. Sometimes twice a day lol. It calms my worries a lot!! If you don’t have one, I’d highly recommend getting one

@savvy25677,
this is me! Haha I use it 1-2 x a day even if I feel baby. Miscarriages really mess with your mind!

ordered one just as I was making this post! With as busy moving as I’ve been, I’m gunna give it through the day to see what I can feel and if things change. If tomorrow I still haven’t felt anything then I’ll head to the doctor for sure. Then the Doppler should be here Tuesday or Wednesday so at that point I’ll be able to do quick checks and feel relief.
Thanks mamas!

Hopping back on to update:
I did end up going to obed last. I laid down for bed and still was just so anxious and didn’t want to lose another nights sleep. I was crying and starting to freak out thinking something was wrong. So 9pm I had to the hospital.
Everything is fine and little one had a good, strong heartbeat. Just tucked back as far as she could possibly be and decided to stay there for a while.
Glad I went so I could get reassurance and some sleep lol
Doppler will be here in a few days and hopefully that’ll help with future hide and seek moments
