What is the common consensus of the board - couldn't care less or must see TV? Both sides have done a great job promoting the fight and it's projected to be the most watched PPV ever ($400M+). Projections for total revenue are ~$700M. I think most people know this is scam and the fight will be a joke but for some reason can't help but hop along the hype train. I'll most likely rent the fight with some friends just to see the spectacle.

No interest in this made for TV spectacle.

To me these two athletes represent everything that is wrong with sports. I wouldn't watch either for free.

I'll watch, I'll always watch Mayweather fight. He is the best fighter in my lifetime, I was very young during Tyson but I still remember watching his fights on HBO and Mayweather is better than him.

It's disappointing his last fight is against Mcgregor. It is actually insulting people try to make up reasons why Mcgregor will win, he doesn't have a chance in the world

Isn't really a boxer??? He has never fought a professional boxing match.. Mayweather is an all time great, unless Mayweather's skills have pretty much evaporated over the last 2 years Mcgregor could get seriously hurt

Wouldn't say the sport is "disgusting." It can be brutal at times, but it's the nature of the sport. Mixed martial arts is the most technical form of fighting; a true balance between strength, endurance, and technique.

I also don't think it will be a cakewalk for Mayweather. I'm not going to pretend like I'm an expert at the game, but McGregor is a better all-around fighter than Mayweather. Obviously, Mayweather has the upper hand in boxing, which is obviously why he is so favored to win (being that its being ruled as a boxing match). I think McGregor's speed and mind game will contribute to the fight being closer than some people anticipate.

LOL, be serious. McGregor is in no way at risk of getting "seriously hurt". He's a world-class, multiple weight mixed martial arts champion. While he is no professional boxer, he is a professional fighter. He will very much likely lose, but he has knockout power and a puncher's chance. Let's not act like boxing is some holy grail that renders martial artist's helpless and defenseless. Not to mention Floyd has built a career on his evasiveness and counter punching, it's not like he is some Tyson-esque freight train looking to come in and knock Connor's block off.

Connor will most likely lose, but I'm sure he'll manage to survive.

This isn't a boxing match. This is an exhibition. I will not watch it. Mayweather is probably the most boring fighter that I have ever watched and very over rated. Oscar De la Hoya beat Mayweather and it was a disgrace that they gave that decision to Mayweather.

Mayweather was never a boxer who would fight the best challenger out there. He would avoid the best fighters during his career. He avoided Pacquio when they were in their prime. He won't even mention Triple G now as he would rather fight McGregor.

The best thing about this fight is the preflight hype by these two guys. This is just stealing money from the public.

McGregor is a boxer though. The most popular UFC strikes are straight-punches. You need to be a great boxer to fight in UFC. He is not just a boxer though, he is also an expert in almost every type of martial arts. All MMA fighters are extremely well rounded because you need to know so many different types of fighting to succeed in the sport.

There is a big difference between boxing in for a MMA fight and boxing in a professional boxing match, to try to compare him "boxing" for a UFC match is a joke

I agree with you; there is a big difference, but the only joke is thinking that McGregor is going to get "seriously hurt." I am by no means predicting a McGregor win, but I'm struggling to understand why you think this match is insulting.

He will get punched more times in this one fight than he has his whole career. He is not used to the repetitive knocks to the head he will take. It's not one punch that will do him in it's the many punches over the 12 rounds.

Yes Mcgregor is a fighter, but he cannot use 90% of the skills he can in a MMA fight. He has never faced a fighter with the skill of Mayweather and in this setting puts him at a great disadvantage.

Mayweather will have a 60-70 connect percentage and over a few rounds that will get to Mcgregor. As he tires throughout the fight it will get worse and worse. It's not the one punch Mcgregor has to worry about it's the 20-30 a round Mayweather will land cleanly.

Your kidding right? The fact you had Hall of fame boxers who Mayweather made look silly in a boxing ring, you have a man who has never fought a professional boxing match getting in the ring with one of the best ever? So what is he going to do that De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Marquez, Mosley, Canelo, Pacquiao couldn't do?

Add in the fact it takes years for a fighter to progress and develop to be able to get to the 12 rounds. As he tires out the blows will have an even greater effect. Mayweather has not knocked anyone out since Hatton, but does not mean he doesn't have power. He mainly doesn't use it to full effect because of his hands and the fact he doesn't have to. It's also not all that pleasant taking a punch with the speed and the snap his punches have, if he has no power, why doesn't any just walk him down then?

What is McGregor going to do? I don't know, we will find out. I do know that Mayweather will probably run around a lot! McGregor vs Mayweather Saturday night (10)

Anyway, you are obviously a big Mayweather fan. Lets just watch the fight and see what happens.

This is a mismatch- You have Mayweather (one of the best professional boxers) vs McGregor ( who never fought in a professional boxing match) in a boxing match. I do not think McGregor would have a chance vs many professional boxers. This is all a money making spectacle.

What next- have Aaron Judge play in a NFL game because he is a big baseball athlete.

Mcgregor is an amateur boxer and Maywether one of the all time professional greats. It will be over when Maywether decides.

I am a huge McGregor and UFC fan, but I agree with this. I don't think McGregor stands much of a chance against Mayweather, but he does have a couple things in his favor which is the age difference and the use of 8 oz gloves. Do those amount to anything? I have no idea, but McGregor does have serious power and if he is able to catch Mayweather with a couple shots early you never know.

Your points about all the shots McGregor will take per round is a valid one. McGregor has never seen someone with the hand speed of Mayweather even at 40+ years of age. Unless McGregor catches Floyd with a shot or two early, I fully expect Mayweather to just wear him down and out. Floyd hasn't finished many fights over the last handful of years with KO's, but McGregor has obviously never gone 36 minutes in any fight regardless of arena.

I also agree this is a complete spectacle, but I'll be watching...

This is probably the most shrewd piece of editing a video ever... not sure who to believe but you can't just piece together a few seconds here and there. You have Paulie basically saying that he dominated Mcgregor except for the last 2 rounds where he got horribly tired mainly because he is way out of shape and can't go that many rounds... look how flabby Paulie looks... that video is a joke

The biggest question mark is Mayweather being 40 and having not caught in 2 years... how much of his skills have diminished? We will see and that's the X factor, and the 8oz gloves mean nothing, if anything it makes Mayweather's hand speed more dangerous.

Yeah saw that, my guy says it's just messing with Mcgregor and publicity. Mayweather has historically said he doesn't watch video or research a fighter, uses the first round or 2 to assess the fight and make adjustments.. this is a complete poop show
