The patients on Dr Pimple Popper do not pay for their treatments, as medical costs are covered by the production company.
According to beauty publication Allure, the show covers its cast's travel, accommodation and treatment.
However, for patients to qualify for the cost-free treatment they are required to have either lipomas, cyst, large growths or undiagnosed skin conditions.
How do I apply to go on Dr Pimple Popper?
According to the show's host Dr Lee, there are a few different ways for patients to be cast on the show.

Lee said: "There are casting agents who are hired by TLC to find potential patients for filming.
"But they are always reaching out on open forums likeRedditor Facebook, asking for public submissions, which can be made to Popper@aberrantcreative.com."
Prospective cast members are encouraged to send in a submission that includes photos of their skin conditions and how it has impacted their lives.
From there, candidates are chosen by the casting agency to appear on the show.
